Barbara A. (Scott) McClurkin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barbara A. (Scott) McClurkin, 81, of Syracuse, passed away Monday surrounded by her loving family at The Cottages. Born in Philadelphia, she resided in the Syracuse area for over 50 years. Barbara graduated from Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and dedicated her career to nursing, retiring as Nurse Case Manager at The Hartford. She also was the former Nurse Manager at Plaza Health. During her retirement, Barbara enjoyed working as a sub-nurse in the North Syracuse School District. Above all, she was a dedicated mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She was a longtime communicant of The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception. She was predeceased by her husband, Terry McClurkin; son, Greg McClurkin; and sister, Marcie Filipone. Barbara is survived by her children, Richard (Maureen) McClurkin, Barbara McClurkin (Kathy), Sarah (Erik) Whittle, and Heather Leahey; daughter-in-law, Gina McClurkin; grandchildren, Hannah and Emma McClurkin, Ava, Ian, and Ryan Leahey; several nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call on Thursday, March 10th, from 4 p.m. to 7p.m. at FARONE & SON Inc Funeral Home, 4899 W. Taft Road, Liverpool. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 11th, 10 a.m. at The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception.
