Carmela Rose Nicotra Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Carmela Rose Nicotra, 93, of Syracuse, passed away on Thursday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Carmela, known as “Gram” to most everyone, loved to cook, especially her meatballs. No one left her house hungry. She was a caring and loving woman, who was always thinking of others. Carmela had a smile that could light up a room. Her greatest joy was her family. Carmela was predeceased by her husband, Alfio Nicotra in 2005; parents, Carmello and Maria Sindoni; brothers, Placido, Gaetano, Joseph, Stefano, and Nicholas Sindoni; sisters, Maria Romano and Mattia Sindoni; and son-in-law, Doug Barton. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Barton and Carmella and Phillis Nicotra; grandson, Jeremy (Katelyn) Barton; great-grandson, Marcus Barton; sister-in-law, Mary Nictora; brother-in-law, Salvatore Nicotra; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 24th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at FARONE & SON, Inc. Funeral Home, 4899 W. Taft Rd., Liverpool. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 25th at 9:00am at the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am at St. Margaret’s Church, 203 Roxboro Rd.
