Carmella A. (Anastas) DePietro, 96, of East Syracuse, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday. A life resident of the Syracuse area, she retired from GE. Carmella was an avid SU and NY Yankees fan and also enjoyed trips to the casino, bowling, and reading. Above all, she enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events, concerts, recitals, and theater performances. Carmella was predeceased by her husband, Anthony DePietro; brothers, Samuel, Charles, and Joseph; sisters, Jennie, Nellie, Antoinette, and Josephine. Survivors include her two daughters, Patricia (Robert) Stankewicz and Dawn (Donald) Burrows; grandchildren, Jacklyn (Brad) Beck, Anthony (Jennifer) Burrows, and Amy (Justin) Tianello; great-grandchildren, Renate Wilson, Evan, Emerson, and Elliot Tianello, and Georgia Burrows; several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 31st, 12 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 31st, prior to the funeral mass from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the church.
