Clara DeFio

June 4, 1931 - March 5, 2022

Clara DeFio was at home March 5th where she wanted to be when God decided it was time for her to join her family in heaven. She was predeceased by four sons, Joey, Alex, Nick, and Michael; sisters, Rose and Virginia; many friends that she is now reunited with. Clara is survived by her son, John (Donna) who did her shopping, brought her her favorite foods, took her on lunch dates, and saw her most every day; he was her top advocate; daughters, Pauline and Ginny (Peter); 29 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; her favorite niece/Godchild, Sandy who helped us to care for our mother; Goddaughter, Punky; the little person who always put a smile on her face, great-grandson, Gianni Babo. She was a caregiver all her life from her kids to strangers. She took care of elderly people in their homes for many years and treated them the way she liked to be treated like family. She enjoyed driving in her car while enjoying a cup of coffee from McDonald’s with our dear friend, Donna Deregis, playing Bingo, and spending time with her kids. These simple things are what mattered to her. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 14th, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
