Clayton "Pete" Herbert

Clayton “Pete” Herbert, 88, of Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday at The Cottages at Garden Grove. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served in the Korean War. Pete retired from Allied Chemical after over 30 years of service. He was an animal lover and an avid sports fan, especially of the NY Giants. Above all, Pete was a doting husband to his late wife, Rose. He will be remembered for being a wonderful and kind man who took great care of his family and those he loved. Along with his wife, Rose, Pete was predeceased by his daughter, Cheryl Tinozzi. Survivors include his children, Daine Brown (Mark) and Mathew (Kristen) Herbert; son-in-law, Marco Tinozzi; sisters, Fran (Allan) Hull and Shirley Stevenson; and grandchildren, Stephanie Brown, Christopher Tinozzi, and Olivia Herbert. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 18th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at FARONE & SON, Inc. Funeral Home, 4899 W. Taft Rd., Liverpool. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 19th, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Lucy’s Parish, 432 Gifford St., Syracuse, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Onondaga Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
