Daniel D. Magaro

Daniel D. Magaro, 100, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at his home with his family by his side. Daniel was employed at Service Liquor as a warehouse foreman before retiring at the age of 62. His love of roses led him to hold the position of Master Rosarian through the American Rose Society. Daniel also served as President of the Syracuse Rose Society where he received a bronze volunteer medal and managed their booth at the NYS Fair for many years. Mr. Magaro received a volunteer award from the RSVP Senior Volunteer Program. An avid gardener, Daniel was a member of the Men’s Garden Club and managed EM Mills Memorial Garden at Thornden Park. A veteran of the United States Army, Daniel served his country proudly during WWII. He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph and Remo Magaro. Survivors include his loving wife, Antoinette “Babe” Magaro; daughters, Deborah (Stephen Dolan), Jennifer (Tim Owens), Donna Dye; grandchildren, Joseph Dolan, Jacob Dolan, Kimberly Owens, and Dawna Owens; several nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 25th, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Church, Liverpool. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. at St. Joseph the worker Church. Burial will be private. Contributions may be made to EM Mills Rose Garden, c/o Syracuse Rose Society or St. Joseph the Worker Church. FARONE & SON Inc Funeral Home has arrangements.
