Dixon "Dick" Martin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dixon “Dick” Martin, 89, of Liverpool, NY and formerly of Frostburg, MD, passed away on Thursday at the Francis House. Dick was born in Lonaconing, MD on October 7, 1931 to the late Dixon and Ruth Martin. Dick came to the Syracuse area in 1956 after serving four years in the U.S. Air Force. He retired in 1990 after 35 years of service at General Electric. He was a member of Abundant Life Christian Center and lifetime member of Salina Seniors of Liverpool. Dick is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce Nappa Martin; his daughter, Peggy (Jeff) Kranze; his step-children, Ginny (Ron) Holmes, Bruce LaVere, Debbie (Hank) Schwan, Cindy (Tom) Bitter, and Jon (Julianne) Nappa; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Jon) Walski, Paul (Katy) Kranze, Gina (Tom) Cook, Debbie (Wayne) VanNorstrand, Greg (Lisa) Holmes, Jim Holmes, Nikki (Rod) Pollock, Marta (Luis) LaVere, Sonia (Juan) LaVere, Bruce (Gina) LaVere, David (Marta) LaVere, Rebekah Nappa, Jacob Nappa, John Nappa, and Luke Nappa; 20 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Dick was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Simmons Martin; and sister, Anna Martin Tranum. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 20th, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.at Farone & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 4899 W. TAFT ROAD,LIVERPOOL. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 21st, 11 a.m.at the funeral home, 4899 W. TAFT ROAD, LIVERPOOL. Those attending are strongly encouraged to wear masks.
