Elder Wallace "Kippy" Barkins

May 20, 1962 - March 21, 2022

Elder Wallace “Kippy” Barkins, 59, departed this life unexpectedly on Monday, March 21st while at work. Wallace was the pastor of the Brotherly Love Church of God in Christ. He was employed by ProLiteracy Worldwide for 34 years. He also worked as the Jurisdictional Secretary for Western New York 1st under the leadership of Bishop James R. Wright. Wallace was a loving husband and father as well as a dear friend to so many. A man who served God by serving his fellow man. He will be truly missed. Surviving is his wife of 29 years 11 months, Jerena Rene; his sons, Evan and Ethan of Syracuse; his daughter, Olivia finally gets to have her daddy hold her again. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30th at the Bethany Baptist Church, 149 Beattie Street, Syracuse. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 29th, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Living Waters Church of God in Christ, 121 Huron Street.
