Joseph "Skip" Stratton Dwyer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Joseph Stratton “Skip” Dwyer, Jr., 78, of Cicero, passed away peacefully at the Syracuse VA on Friday, March 11, 2022. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY. Shortly after his father passed away he joined the Air Force. He was stationed in Texas, Maine, and then Newfoundland. He was a radio operator for awhile then a vehicle operator until he was discharged. Joe worked in factories, managed large family style restaurants, worked as a policeman for a few years and ended his working career at The Rescue Mission as a rehabilitation counselor. Eventually Joe went to Syracuse, NY where he met his wife, Stefanina. They married in April 1985. Joe earned his AS, BA, and MS in rehabilitation counseling. Joe was always the man of many stories and if you sat with him, he’d always have one to share with you. In addition to his parents, Helen and Joseph, he is predeceased by his son, Salvatore; sister; Ann; brother, Patrick; and daughter in law, Karen. He is survived by his wife, Stefanina; daughters, Dion (Paul) Anthony of Pennsylvania, Peggy Dwyer of Auburn and Elvira (Nasser) Uthman of Liverpool; grandchildren, Jessica Granato, Kelsey Ibach, Michael (Jennifer) Abdullatief, Samar Abdullatief, Nadia Uthman, Josephina (Stephen) Uthman, Stefanina (Anthony) Crisafulli, and Anthony (Heather) Liguigli; and many great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 16th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at FARONE & SON, Inc. Funeral Home, 4899 W. Taft Rd., Liverpool with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
