Leland W. Aubertine

Leland W. Aubertine, 96, of Brewerton, NY, affectionately known to many as “Grandpa Lee” passed away at his home on Wednesday with his family by his side. He was born in Cape Vincent, NY, and has lived in the Cicero/Brewerton area for over 70 years. His home was one of the first homes on Mud Mill Road in Brewerton. He could often be seen in his driveway waving to everyone who passed by whether they were in their car, on a bike, running or walking by. Lee was a proud US Army Sergeant in the 65 Infantry Division serving during WWII. “Grandpa Lee” would receive numerous cards on Veterans Day from the children at Cicero Elementary. He retired from Eagle Medal Craft. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty and son-in-law, Salvatore “Sam” Laquidari. Survivors include his daughter, Bonnie Laquidari; grandchildren, Samuel Laquidari and Celeste (Michael) Godfrey; great-grandchildren, Milan Lee Laquidari and Avery Leo Godfrey. A service with full military honors will be held in the Spring at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Liverpool NY.
