Leslie F. (Belt) Dean Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Leslie F. (Belt) Dean, 88 of Lysander, passed away in her sleep on June 19, 2022 in Rome NY. Born in Watertown to Eugene Harrison and Leslie (Moore) Belt, she graduated from Syracuse Central High School, Central City Business Institute (CCBI) and SUNY Empire State College. Leslie retired from the Hospital Administration Department at SUNY Health Science Center in 1988, after 35 years of service. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Jonathan Dean; two daughters, Susan Dean and Carolyn (Ronald) Evans-Dean, both of Syracuse. Born the third of 13 children, Leslie leaves behind three remaining siblings, Arthur (Iris) Belt, Helene Belt and Linda Belt. Additional beloved family members include four grandchildren, Paulette, Stephen, Kiarah, and Danielle; several great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her eldest daughter, April Dean. A long-time resident of the Baldwinsville and Lysander communities, Leslie enjoyed country living, helping friends, tending her many gardens, reading and spending time with family. Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 27th, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at FARONE & SON Inc Funeral Home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be private in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lysander Volunteer Fire Department, 664 Lamson Rd, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
