Louis Ferguson

Minister Louis Ferguson transitioned to be with the Lord on January 23rd, 2021 with his family by his side. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his beloved wife Lottie Ferguson, daughter Victoria Clark (Syracuse, NY), son Louis Huddleston (Syracuse, NY), daughter Nicole Ferguson-Frederick (Port St. Lucie, FL), daughter Lamera Ferguson (Wilmington, DE); a host of grand children as well as great-grand children, and one great-great-grandson. He also leaves to mourn his brother Clover Coffie [Deborah] (Belle Glade, FL), and sisters – Cora Edwards (Royal Palm Beach, FL), Velmon Edwards (W. Palm Beach, FL), and Gloria Edwards (Atlanta, GA). Mr. Ferguson is the son of the late Louis Ferguson and June Edwards (Belle Glade, FL). He was also preceded in death by his late daughter Carla Sharpe (Belle Glade, FL), sister Earnestine Coleman (Sunrise, FL), and brothers, Charles Edwards, Roosevelt Baldwin, Abram “Archie Lee” Edwards – all of Belle Glade, FL. Louis was born in Rome, NY, and raised in Belle Glade, FL, where he was an avid football player. He later relocated and made a home in Syracuse, NY. He previously worked for General Motors for 17 years as a Machine Operator. After retirement he was self-employed as a licensed barber and was the owner and operator of Ferguson’s Barbershop. He was an Associate Minister at Greater New Testament Missionary Baptist Church where he was very active and faithful member over the years. He was a member of the Senior Choir, Chairman of the Deacon Board, the Superintendent of Sunday School, and a Sunday School teacher in addition to several other roles over the years. He enjoyed singing and dancing, fishing, traveling and visiting his family wherever they were – near or far, and of course, serving his Lord and Savior.
