Rose (Calogero) Morris Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Rose (Calogero) Morris, 89, of Syracuse, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Wednesday, June 29th. Born in Syracuse, Rose was a life resident of the area and retired as a Real Estate Agent at Century 21. She also worked as a hairdresser for 20 years. Rose was an active communicant of St. Peter’s Church, where she was a cantor, taught religious education and ran Bingo. She loved flowers and enjoyed her camp in Old Forge which she opened to many. Rose was a strong and independent woman and was the caretaker of the family. She was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Filomena Calogero; and eight siblings. Survivors include her loving husband of 70 years, Ed Morris; son, Eddie Morris (Margaret); grandchildren, Chance and Gabbie; sisters, Fanny (James) Apps, Joy Constantine, Connie (Ben) Africa, Nancy (Neil) Hart, and Fran Burton; brother, Anthony Calogero; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 7th, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at FARONE & SON Inc Funeral Home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 8th, 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home and 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
