Sylvester Lee Wallace, Sr., 79, was called home on Wednesday, January 13th. Born in Stockton, AL, Sylvester resided in Syracuse for most of his life. He retired from Anheuser-Busch after several years of service. Sylvester loved to sing and was an avid fisherman and bowler in his younger years. Most importantly, he was a loving and devoted husband and father and a pastoral mentor. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bettye Wallace; children, Rochelle Gilbert, Antoinette (Rickey) Montgomery, Sylvester (Laura) Wallace, Jr., Alicia Wallace, Satina Wallace (Christopher), and Arsenio (Spencer) Wallace; sister, Leila Young; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 21st, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Immanuel Temple, C.O.G.I.C.,1509 S. Salina Street, Syracuse. A private funeral service will be held for the family. Burial will be in Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Services entrusted to FARONE & SON, Inc. Funeral Home.
